Pastor Welcome Letter
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. As Pastor of this faith community, I believe that the aspect of spiritual growth is of the utmost importance to the development of our school.
There are many opportunities at Mount Carmel for our children to grow in their spiritual journey. Each Tuesday Mass is offered where the children are in attendance. Strong emphasis has always been placed on preparation for the Reception of the First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation. In addition, boys and girls in Grades 5 through 8 are encouraged to participate as Altar Servers. We offer children, Grade 3 through Confirmation age, the opportunity to join our Children's Choir if they have an interest. Rachel Armour, who is an OLMC Alumni, is the director of that choir.
Each year we celebrate our Lady's Feast in July. This is a special time of the year here at Our Lady of Mount Carmel -- a time for our Parishioners, and especially our children, who are the future of our Parish, to participate in this annual event.
As a Priest, I feel privleged to be a part of this ethnic Parish where the languagte is an important part of the school curriculum. I believe that children have to be taught at an early age that Christ and his Church must be at the center of their lives. This is what we strive for each and every day at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may the Lord continue to bless each and every one of you.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Frederick M. Aniello~Pastor
