Home and School Association

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School

Home School Association

On January 7, 1963, the first meeting of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Home School Association was held, beginning a program that has continued to sponsor closer communication and joint interest in the school’s continued progress.  This organization of parents within Our Lady of Mount Carmel School supports the school from different perspectives.  The goal of the organization is to enrich the experience of students as well as providing opportunities for parents to get involved with their children’s education.  It also provides a vehicle for communication and community building between parents and the administration, faculty, and staff.

The organization hosts numerous events throughout the year for parents and students.  Some of these events have become long standing traditions that help build school spirit and foster a sense of school community.  New activities are also added to continuously engage parents in maintaining the enthusiasm and energy for the school.

Activities held in the past have included:  Hot Dog Social, Halloween Party, Father-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Bowling, and RockCats Baseball.  The Home and School Association has also provided speaker presentations relevant to student education and well-being.

The Home and School Association also plans fundraisers throughout the year to assist the school in meeting its overall operating expenses as well as to assist parents in meeting their family assessment for the year.

All parents of students at OLMC are members of the Home and School Association.  Meetings are held throughout the year and parents are informed of these meetings through email and/or “sent home” notices.  Events are also publicized in this manner.  Again, these meetings and events are an excellent way for parents to get involved, support the school, and meet fellow parents.

All help to this organization is appreciated.

To all of those who continue to be involved, THANK YOU!

If you are new to the involvement of this organization, WELCOME!
